Designing multifunctional, human-centered spaces
We design retail, business, exhibition and other spaces with diverse usage scenarios, ensuring a personalised experience for every visitor.
Multifunctional spaces

As urban environments evolve, the need for multifunctional spaces is becoming increasingly relevant
At Designic, we create design concepts for shopping malls and business centres that combine visual appeal with engaging, emotionally resonant experiences. Complex usage scenarios ensure the space stays functional, flexible, and true to the location’s concept.

Researching needs and objectives

The foundation of every project. We’ll meet with you to discuss your design brief, define objectives, and prepare a proposal.

Architectural analysis

This process involves two stages: defining the technical specifications and developing the layout
Technical specification
We analyze the project concept and organizational objectives. We establish spatial boundaries, identify structural and technical constraints, determine occupancy and functional requirements, and map out the departments the space must accommodate. We also develop visual references and document all design criteria.
from 3 days*
Layout design
The spatial layout is developed according to the organizational structure and user interaction scenarios. This stage covers zoning and the arrangement of furniture and equipment, resulting in detailed Revit drawings and axonometric diagrams.
from 1 week*

Concept

We develop the core concept of the space by creating a mood board, defining stylistic and color solutions, preparing ceiling, flooring, and lighting plans, and producing a material sample board accompanied by photorealistic 3D visualizations in 3ds Max.

Working documentation

Detailed preparation of drawings for precise project execution. The final output is a complete working documentation package with visualizations, delivered digitally and in print, including:
A list of Architectural Interiors (AI) section drawings and a measured plan with engineering reference points.
Layout solutions, including demolition plans, new partition layouts and specifications, MEP equipment layouts, door layouts, furniture plans, plumbing layouts, and related elements.
Finishing solutions;
Electrical and lighting solutions;
Technical specifications for furniture and custom-made elements;
Schedules and specifications.

Furnishing and design supervision (optional)

Managing the procurement of finishes, furniture, and equipment. We coordinate contractors and suppliers, oversee tenders, and suggest alternatives to specified items when needed.
We work closely with contractors handling construction, engineering, furniture, and materials to ensure the design is executed as intended. We answer questions, visit the site, and check that everything matches the concept, keeping a clear record of any changes along the way.

*Timelines vary depending on the size of the space and project specifics. Exact dates will be determined after the first meeting with our studio managers.
Cost assessment
The cost is calculated individually for each project and depends on several factors:
01
Location of the site
02
Project timeline – the more urgent, the higher the cost
03
Size of the space – larger areas reduce the cost per square metre
04
Availability of existing drawings and measurements – if none exist, we carry out laser measurements.
05
The studio work stages included
Точная стоимость будет обозначена в коммерческом предложении, которое составляется после ознакомительной встречи.
Сроки варьируются в зависимости от площади пространства и наличия замеров, в среднем:

Часто задаваемые вопросы
01
Is partial development of an exhibition space design project possible?
Yes, but it depends on which project stages are required. We can prepare a design concept for an exhibition space based on your layout, but we’ll still conduct an architectural analysis to ensure the plan complies with standards and the brief.
You can also choose to skip working documentation and order only the design concept, but without detailed drawings, there’s a risk the final project will differ significantly from the initial idea. For this reason, we don’t prepare documentation based on another studio’s concept.
02
Can construction start before the final approval of a multifunctional space design project?
Construction typically begins after the architectural analysis, design concept approval, and confirmation of the working drawings. In exceptional cases, some installation work may run alongside documentation development; we recommend discussing this during the planning stage to define timelines and team composition clearly.
03
How long does implementation take after the working documentation is approved?
The average implementation period is 3–4 months after documentation approval. The main factors are procurement and construction speed. Extended timelines typically relate to engineering system adjustments.
Note: Implementation is not within the design studio’s scope and is handled by a contractor chosen by the client. However, we can assist with furniture, materials and equipment procurement, and provide quality control through procurement and design supervision services.
04
What if the budget is limited?
Please mention budget limits during your first meeting with our studio manager so we can estimate an approximate cost per square metre. This allows us to tailor solutions throughout the project to your financial parameters without compromising the quality during implementation.
05
How can I be sure I’ll like the design project?
After the first meeting, we prepare a detailed technical brief covering the site’s specifications, your preferences, visual references, values, positioning, and qualitative notes for the desired entertainment centre design, retail or exhibition space. Our designers use this document throughout the process.
Our projects follow phased approvals — we only move to the next stage once the previous one is approved, with revisions always possible. Designic provides photorealistic renders to help you envision the space and prepares detailed working documentation, along with procurement and design supervision, to ensure the concept is fully realized.
06
What documents and materials should I prepare before we start?
To prepare a cost estimate and proposal, we’ll need information about the concept and objectives, the space’s size and location, any existing measurements or drawings, and your expectations.
When preparing a technical brief for public space design, it will be helpful to provide:
- floor plans and drawings;
- a brandbook and documents that outline the project’s structure and positioning;
- preferences for functional zones and equipment;
- visual references.
The exact list of documents depends on the project. Our managers will help you prepare everything required.
